WELCOME

Welcome to the Rare Disease Clinical Research Certificate Program. We are very excited to have you join us as we identify resources and mentors to help you further YOUR research goals in rare disease. The PI of the project is Dr. Marshall Summar and the educational coordinator is Dr. Debra Regier (dregier@childrensnational.org). The course is a combination of two in-person workshops (Fall each year) and biweekly on-line sessions to allow for content and research-centric mentoring for your projects. We will be using LearnRD as the hub to provide the information for these sessions and to monitor your progress towards a presentation at the second fall meeting of your research outcomes.

The Rare Disease Research Training Program is supported through a grant from the National Institutes of Health (R25HD078229). The following Institutes and Centers have contributed to this award: Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute Of Child Health & Human Development (NICHD), National Center For Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), the Office of Dietary Supplements, Office of the Director, NIH (ODS/OD), National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). Intellectual and partial administrative support has been generously provided by the Training Committee of the RDCRN. Administrative and educational support has been partially provided by the Department of Genetics and Metabolism at Children’s National Health System and the Medical Education Office of Children’s National Medical Center.
