Keetra Williams BSN, RN
Clinical Supervisor: Ambulatory Specialty Infusions
Keetra Williams graduated from the University of Florida with a BS in Nursing in 1996. Her early years in nursing were spent in the Adult Critical Care areas. Keetra has worked for Children’s National for 18 ½ years. Her first position was an RNII on the Surgical Care Unit. In 2003 she became a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. In 2004 she became a Clinical Supervisor, the role in which she continues to serve. From 2004-2016 Keetra worked in HIV Services also known as the Special Immunology Clinic taking care of children and adolescents with HIV/AIDS. While working with this patient population she also got the opportunity to work as a Clinical Research Coordinator primarily focusing on the pharmacological drugs used to treat HIV/AIDS. This led to many publications and opportunities to speak at events throughout the District of Columbia. That is where she found her passion and continues to serve as a mentor and “counselor” to the children and families affected by HIV/AIDS. In 2016 she became the Clinical Supervisor for the Pain Medicine Clinic. There she learned the importance of pain management in chronic illnesses and the impact that the opioid epidemic was having on our youth in the communities we serve. In November of 2019 Keetra took on the responsibility of supervising the Non-Chemo Ambulatory Specialty infusions. This is an exciting position as Children’s National has never had an infusion center. Keetra has been actively involved in developing this infusion center which will be located within the Sheik Zayed. The infusion center will open by the Spring of 2021. After its’ opening, Keetra will then be involved with the creation of the Day Medicine Clinic which will be home to the Hemodialysis and the Non-Chemo Ambulatory Infusions. The Day Medicine Clinic will also be housed within the Sheik Zayed campus.
