About the Program

Designed for Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) Fellows and Junior Faculty (rank of Clinical Instructor or Assistant Professor) who are interested in conducting health equity academic research.

The 3 goals of the program are:

  1. Prepare PHM scholars to lead health-equity research in the care of hospitalized children
  2. Enhance the diversity of PHM scholars
  3. Build a repository of health-equity research resources
  • Learn from national leaders with health equity research expertise to conduct a successful health equity research project
  • Mentorship support for scholars
  • Meet virtually monthly throughout the year with in-person meeting at PHM Annual Conference
  • Funding support for scholars to attend the PHM Annual Conference
  • Network with other HEAR-PHM scholars and national researchers
